About Us

ARIMM began in 2005 as a collaborative research effort joining the music departments of IPFW and the University of Arizona.

Connecting medical and musical professionals, ARIMM’s goal is to bring scientists, physicians, musicians, computer and sound engineers together to brainstorm research ideas that explore the healing effects of sound and music.

We hope to find the scientific basis for the effect that music can have on the disease process. Bringing medical, science and music professionals together in the research process may help in discovering the missing pieces of the puzzle.  We support research that is scientifically based, performed by professionals who can properly control all aspects pertaining to the questions at hand, and which lead to further exploration.
